INSTRUCTOR: Frank Hamilton (bio)
TIME: Thu – 6:00pm, In-person
INSTRUMENT: All

There’s an endless number of songs to learn in this world, but some of the best songs are unknown by today’s general public. By learning and singing these folk songs, we can connect with generations that went before, discover different cultures in our own land and other lands, as well as learn about the histories of those times and places. These songs contain valuable musical, as well as historical information.

A great song can be defined as one which is easy to sing, has interesting lyrics and a well constructed, memorable melody. Folk songs often have catchy tunes that are easy to learn and remember – the same tune may be used for different songs, even from different countries.

The purpose of this course is to teach those important songs so that they will continue to live on and offer new generations valuable insight into their own historical narrative.

This class meets in person.
