4:00PM — Lap Steel Guitar Workshop w/Mick Kinney @ FHS

Join Mick Kinney at the Frank Hamilton School on Sunday, August 17th at 4:00 PM for a free demonstration and introduction to playing the lap steel guitar! Come experience how easy it is to create those tropical Hawaiian sounds and the classic country twang. Discover the fun of using a steel cylinder “bar” to create that magical metallic tone of the bottleneck blues. Mick will share with you his specially designed tuning that simplifies the playing of chords and melodies, one with little or no movement required. Several steel guitars will be available to use, or you can use any guitar — acoustic or electric — to start to learn.

This is a free workshop (donations graciously accepted). No registration is required, but an RSVP to let us know you’re coming will help us plan! Email Maura at maura @frankhamiltonschool.org.
