2:00pm – Audio Editing Workshop: Audacity Introduction
In this one-hour workshop you will get an introduction to what Audacity, a free audio editing tool, can do. Do you have recordings of yourself or your group and wish you could trim out the talking at the beginning or end of a song? Are your recordings too soft or too loud? Would you like to add vocals to an existing recording of a guitar or other instrument? This workshop will get you started on the way to being able to address these issues and many more.
While we will only scratch the surface of Audacity, at the end of this workshop you will leave with a much better understanding of what an audio editor can do. If you want to learn more, you can sign up for the Audio Editing For Musicians class which will be taught next term.
Prerequisites – while you can just come to this workshop and watch, you will get much more out of it if you have a PC or MAC and have downloaded and installed Audacity before you attend. Headphones or earbuds would be good to bring as well.
